The Boardwalk Art Show and Festival is one of the oldest and best outdoor fine art shows on the Eastern Seaboard. Party at the Pier – Beach Music Concert

Highlights: Rides, games and traditional state fair foods are all available at the Summer Carnival at Mount Trashmore Park. Located in the parking lot off Edwin Drive, the carnival is great for all ages and offers free admission and free parking.
Taylor Farms Animal Park

Located at Taylor Farms at 2599 Dam Neck Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23456.
Highlights: A family friendly event! Enjoy the animal park (see baby goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, turkeys, ponies and donkeys), the playgrounds with bounce houses and the hayride through the Chincoteague pony field. Pony rides are available for $4.00 per ride. Admission is $5.00 per person. There are lots of picnic tables available for picnic seating!

Kayak Fishing Tour

Highlights: Take Dad on a saltwater kayak fishing tour! Tour locations will vary but include areas along the James River Bridge, Monitor Merrimac and Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel. Lure and hooks will be provided. Saltwater rod and reel combos, saltwater fishing license and bay worthy kayaks are required. Tours will start at 8:00 AM at Fort Monroe boat ramp, with a brief safety overview and question and answer session. Program fee is $25.00 per person and is for ages 18 and older.
