Virginia Beach:
Shamrock Sports and Fitness Expo
Located at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront at 1000 19th Street, Virginia Beach, VA 23451.
Highlights: The Shamrock Sports and Fitness Expo is one of the largest on the East coast! This two-day event will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with runners, walkers and sports enthusiasts of all types. The vendors at the Expo will offer a wide variety of equipment, apparel, footwear and accessories for the whole family. The Shamrock Sports and Fitness Expo is free and open to everyone. Yuengling Shamrock Marathon Weekend
Located at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront at 31st Street & Atlantic Avenue, Virginia Beach, VA 23451.
Highlights: Come celebrate the “Luck of the Irish” as 30,000 runners from all 50 states and several other countries will lace up their sneakers, adorn themselves in green and take to the streets. The annual Yuengling Shamrock Marathon Weekend, first held in 1973, has expanded to become a tradition for many – young and old, residents and non-residents, athletes and spectators.
The Night Before St. Patrick’s Day Storytime
Located at Barnes & Noble inside Lynnhaven Mall at 701 Lynnhaven Parkway, Virginia Beach, VA 23452.
Highlights: ‘Twas the night before St. Patrick’s–the day to wear green. Not a creature was stirring, except Tim and Maureen. So what do these two kids who can’t fall asleep do? They set traps all over the house, hoping to catch a leprechaun who will lead them to his pot of gold. But they don’t realize just how tricky leprechauns can be!
Irish Spirits and Traditional Dishes at Yard House

Norfolk:
Scope on Ice: Green in the Rink Skate
Located at the Scope at 201 E Brambleton Avenue, Norfolk, VA 23510.
Highlights: The Norfolk Admirals are bringing back the green ice as part of their Puck of the Irish weekend! Take a twirl on the green ice before the Admirals celebrate St. Hat Trick’s Day on Friday!
St. Patrick’s Day Celebration
Located at Lafayette Branch Library at 1610 Cromwell Drive, Norfolk, VA 23509.
Highlights: Hear Irish stories and make Irish crafts! Refreshments will be served. This event is for preschool and school-age children.
Shamrockin in Ghent: St. Paddy’s Block Party
Located On Colley Avenue, Norfolk, VA 23507.
Highlights: This is Hope House Foundation’s annual St. Patrick’s Day block party on Colley Avenue in Ghent. The fun includes live music from the Tidewater Pipes and Drums, the Fighting Jamesons, and the Deloreans. There will also be delicious food from Gerty’s Gourmet Kitchen, as well as festive adult beverages! This event is free and open to the public.
Puck of the Irish Weekend: St. Hat Trick’s Day
Located at the Scope at 201 E Brambleton Avenue, Norfolk, VA 23510.
Highlights: The Admirals and Royals will be skating on specialty green ice, some of the only teams to do so in the history of the ECHL to celebrate St. Hat Trick’s Day Weekend! Norfolk will also be wearing green jerseys for the first of two games on the weekend that will be auctioned off on Saturday night.
Shamrock Go Green Party
Located at Mermaid Winery at 330 W. 22nd Street, #106, Norfolk, VA 23517.
Highlights: Come out, wear green, dress up as a leprechaun! This is in celebration of the Shamrockin’ in Ghent and St. Patty’s Day. Featuring $3 glasses of select red and white wine. A bottle of wine valued at $75 will be given to the best-dressed individual or couple of the evening. This event will be held at Mermaid Winery Tasting Room. For those not in green, you will get pinched with a $10 cover charge.

Norfolk Annual Saint Patrick’s Day Parade
Located in Norfolk, VA. The parade map can be found HERE.
Highlights: The 50th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade is a fun filled Irish parade with all the marching bands, clowns, floats, cars, and people necessary to make up an exciting and enjoyable parade. The Parade steps off at 10:00 AM at Northside Middle School and will end at the intersection of First View and Government Avenue. Don’t miss the After Parade Party, presented by the Columbian Club of Ocean View, starting at 12:00 PM at 211 W. Government Avenue. Featuring live music from The Catalinas (outside) and Tidewater Drive (inside the Hall). Plenty of food and refreshments will be available. The after-parade event is free and open to the public, ages 21 and up.
St. Paddy’s Day Party
Located at O’Connor Brewing Co. at 211 W 24th Street, Norfolk, Virginia 23517.
Highlights: Enjoy live music from Celtic trio Glasgow Kiss from 2:00 until 5:00 PM and the Folk-Rock group the Will Overman Band from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Featuring O’Connor’s brand new 7th flagship, R&R Lager, in honor of this 7th anniversary. There will also be 7 stouts, exclusive for this event, including whisky barrel aged ODIS. The featured food trucks will be Your Pie Norfolk / Ward’s Corner, All About The Cheese, The Food Dude, and Just Cupcakes. All four food trucks will be creating and serving Irish-inspired menu items!
Puck of the Irish Weekend: Green Jersey Auction
Located at the Scope at 201 E Brambleton Avenue, Norfolk, VA 23510.
Highlights: Green ice, green jerseys, green hat giveaway. Plus, bring your dog and enjoy a cheap night of eats. The Admirals and Royals will be skating on specialty green ice, some of the only teams to do so in the history of the ECHL to celebrate St. Hat Trick’s Day Weekend! Plus, the home team will be wearing green jerseys that will be auctioned off following the game in the team’s annual MDA Auction that has raised over $500,000 in years past. The first 2,000 fans in the door will receive a free green hat, courtesy of BB&T. This will also be the second Pucks & Paws Night, encouraging folks to bring their furry friend to the game for just a $5 donation to either the Norfolk SPCA, Friends of Norfolk Animal Care Center, Portsmouth Humane Society, Virginia Beach SPCA, and Chesapeake Humane Society.
Newport News:
St. Patrick’s Day Bash at Smoke

Highlights: The night will kick off with food specials and green beer! Enjoy music from the Jonny Cardigan Band from 6:00 until 10:00 PM. This event is free and open to the public.
City Center Shamrock Party
Located at City Center at Oyster Point at 701 Town Center Drive, Newport News, Virginia 23606.
Highlights: Enjoy Irish music and kids’ activities! Food & beverage vendors will be on site. Offering free admission and free parking to the public.
Hampton:
St. Patrick’s Day at The Grey Goose
Located at The Grey Goose at 118 Old Hampton Lane, Hampton, VA 23669.
Highlights: Celebrate with music, food, and beverages! In the spirit of Saint Patrick’s Day, The Grey Goose will feature corned beef and cabbage, bangers and mash, and Irish soda bread, as well as adult beverage specials! Enjoy live music from Phil Poteat. There is no cover for this event.
Park Lane Tavern St. Patrick’s Day Celebration
Located at Park Lane Tavern at 4200 Kilgore Avenue, Hampton, VA 23666.
Highlights: Enjoy live music by Brian Sewell and Jonny Cardigan throughout the day! Featuring green beer and a Great Guinness Glass Giveaway from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM. Shepherds Pie and Magners Cider Corned Beef and Cabbage will be available.
Portsmouth:
St. Patrick’s Day at Roger Brown’s

St. Patrick’s Day: The Sacred and the Profane
Located at the Hennage Auditorium, inside the DeWitt Wallace Decorative Arts Museum at 326 W. Francis Street, Williamsburg, VA 23185.
Highlights: This most Irish of holidays is also a holy day and a cultural celebration. Join Kelly Kennedy and her band Handsome Molly as they play the traditional raucous tunes, sing the haunting and sacred songs and share the great ‘craic’ enjoyed by Irish communities in America and abroad on this special day. A $3.00 ticket is required in addition to Museum Admission.
Lanexa:
St. Patrick’s Day Celebration

Highlights: Celebrate with a night full of music, food, wine, and beer! Help turn Motown GREEN with music by The Winstons. Food will be available for purchase by Monique’s Crepes and The Scottish Pig. Alewerks Brewing Company will be serving their delicious beer.
