An opinion was written in Virginia Lawyers Weekly this October in regards to a negligent premises liablility case. A woman is sueing BJ's Wholesale Club, where she was employed, for failure to warn her or provide proper security from her husband, who made numerous threats and shot her after fatally shooting her sister. The woman is not able to sue the store manager because the relationship between the plantiff and the store manager fails to meet any of the definitions of employer to employee relationships recognized in Virginia.
