Tristan:
Tristan was driving on I-64 going towards Norfolk when a car going the opposite direction flipped over the median and landed on top of his car. At the time Tristan didn't really know what had happened but he knew something was wrong when the police had to use the jaws of life to get him out of his car. Tristan suffered multiple injuries and broke his neck. He worried about how he was going to pay his bills since he was unable to work and how long it would take him to recover.
Robert:
Robert was boarding the ferry from Portsmouth to Norfolk with his wife and he tripped over an old lock box, which was not secured properly inside the entry way. When he got up, Robert had severe pain in his back, so he filed an accident report and decided to receive medical treatment and legal council. Robert went to multiple therapies and received epidural treatments. After going to pain management, Robert is still experiencing pain in his lower back. Back injuries can cause serious damage with just the slightest twist of a back.
Tiwain:
Tiwain was driving when he was hit by a trash truck. He suffered several injuries to his neck, back, and spine. He was in physical therapy for four months and was unable to work. He was worried about paying bills and how he was suppose to support his family.
"A guy was driving a Norfolk Trash Truck and ran right into the back of me. I called Rutter Mills and they called me right back and came to see me the same day. They made me feel like family the way they came in and embraced my kids. I was compensated well for my injuries and I’m back to work and my family is happy and I am doing okay."
Jo-Ann:
Jo-Ann was driving home Sunday after Church when a car pulled out in front of her. Her airbag did not deploy which caused injuries to her back, arm, and head. Jo-Ann was taken to the hospital and received months of physical therapy and advanced pain management.
"I was on my way home from church when a car ran into me. I suffered multiple injuries and was taken to the hospital. It was a scary time but I called Rutter Mills and they treated me like I was part of their family. It isn't a big law firm so I wasn't intimidated and with the settlement I never had to pay one dime for hospital bills. I was so grateful that I had Rutter Mills to help me out and I still keep in touch with these people."

Ed:
Ed was riding his motorcycle when a car pulled out in front of him. To avoid hitting the vehicle Ed had to lay the bike down breaking his ankle, bruising his ribs, and suffering road rash up the left side of his body.
"Something can happen in the blink of an eye and change your whole life. From start to finish, Rutter Mills was with me all the way. They took care of everything. I would recommend Rutter Mills to anyone who has been in an accident. Rutter Mills definitely treats you like family."
Cassandra:
Cassandra was in an automobile accident which resulted in pinched nerves in her back, neck, and spine. Her injuries from the accident meant she had to stop working and attend regular physical therapy treatments.
"Rutter Mills is a whole team of lawyers that know what they’re doing so they know how to get the job done. Rutter Mills really took care of all that different stuff. They really put that personal touch in there. If I was worried about anything I could call and talk to someone. I would definitely recommend them."
Bill:
Bill was shopping at his local grocery store when he slipped in a pool of water on the floor breaking his elbow. Bill required surgery on his elbow and was unable to work for a month.
"I like Rutter Mills, they did a good job and they kept me informed step by step. They were with me all along, while professional and caring. During the deposition the opposition was coming at me and making me feel like it was my fault but Rutter Mills was right there with me and guided me. I’m glad I chose them because they did right by me. I would recommend Rutter Mills to anyone."
Dale:
"I was stopped on an overpass on interstate 64 in the city of Hampton when I heard a loud crash and was rear ended. Immediately I noticed my arm was hurt and I could not believe someone had hit me. Within two hours I started having lower back pain. I couldn’t sleep, I was in constant pain, and I needed something to kill the pain. I ended up going through pain management and I was out of work for 4 to 6 weeks. I had no idea if I was going to go back to work. After contacting Rutter Mills, within one day I was in the office talking to the attorneys. At the beginning I didn’t know what was going to happen. Rutter Mills told me the way it was and always left the decision up to me. They are one of the top attorneys in the area, who will get the best they can for their clients. Overall I was very satisfied and I would highly recommend Rutter Mills."

"I wanted the best care for my injuries, so the people at the Union Hall suggested Rutter Mills. They knew what they were talking about! They took my phone calls right away, explained everything, took care of absolutely anything and everything I needed. They made me feel welcome and like they really cared about how I was doing. But it's not just that they're nice guys, even though that's a comfort when you're sick or hurt. They are also really experienced and really competent. They fought hard for me and got me a settlement that will take care of me for the rest of my life. That's important because I was real let down when the doctor told me I couldn't go back to work as a welder. That was my life's work; it's what I knew how to do. But Rutter Mills told me that they'd make everything OK, and they sure did. I have referred at least eight people to them… maybe more. And they have all come back real pleased and thanked me for it. Just like I'd like to thank Rutter Mills."
Joann:
Joann hurt her foot and ankle at work when a coworker accidentally ran into her. She developed back and hip problems as a consquence of the accident. Several years after her injuries, Joann still has pain in her foot and back that require ongoing care.
"I needed someone to help me get the kind of treatment that I needed, and when I went to Rutter Mills, they were able to do so. Don't feel like you are by yourself or you're alone. Go to Rutter Mills. They treat you like a person."

"The investigator came out. He talked with me. He was sensitive to my problem. He said 'You just sit back and let Rutter Mills do what they do.' Rutter Mills will always be a part of my family."

"We had never faced anything quite like this – never been in a significant accident before -- and we didn’t know where to begin. Fortunately, someone suggested we call Rutter Mills, and from that moment on, we felt completely confident. Every question was answered, every aspect of our case was handled fully. We were cared for – and cared about –throughout the whole process. It’s definitely representation we could count on."
