Texting and Driving Results in Death

Car Accident Info

It is not news to most that texting and driving can be a very dangerous activity, especially to our Texting While Driving Accident Lawyers. In fact, most people know how dangerous it can be but do it anyway – creating a very dangerous disconnect. There have been two extreme examples of this in the news lately that demonstrate this very point.

Taylor Sauer was taking the 4 hour commute from her college to her home when she slammed into a tanker truck at 80 mph, losing her life. Seconds before the accident she sent the following text “Driving and Facebooking is not safe! Haha.”

Six months earlier, another young man, Chance Bothe was driving home from college was texting with a friend “I need to quit texting because I could die in a car accident”. Once again, the text became a self fulfilling prophecy as his he drove his car off of a bridge, landing in a ravine. Luckily Chance lived to tell about it becoming an outspoken crusader for the campaign against texting and driving.

These are very extreme and literal examples of the perils of distracted driving, but many more accidents happen every day because people refuse to put down their phones and focus on the road. No text is worth a life, and as these examples show it only takes one text to cause an accident.
