Rutter Mills 2019 Year in Review

Firm News

Another year is coming to end, and as always, we like to take a moment and reflect on accomplishments, successes, and moments of joy that made this year so special. We are so grateful for the chance to serve our community and are looking forward to the year ahead. Here are some of our most memorable achievements of 2019!

Settlements & Verdicts (Just a few of many!)

Rutter Mills Achieves $2.85 Million Settlement for Injured Maritime Worker

A Rutter Mills client was injured while working on an oil freighter. He suffered a life-threatening back injury and will experience complications from the accident for the rest of his life. Rutter Mills’ highly experienced maritime injury legal team, led by Attorney Adam Lotkin, fought for our client and achieved a $2.85 million dollar settlement.

$1 Million Settlement Achieved for Motorcycle Accident Victim

A Rutter Mills client was struck by and trapped under a vehicle while riding his motorcycle. The client suffered life-threatening injuries throughout his body. Motorcycle accident attorney Everette Lupton and his team of Rutter Mills legal professionals fought the insurance company and achieved a $1 million settlement for our client.

Jury Awards $1 Million to Client in Commercial Vehicle Accident

Rutter Mills won a jury award of $1 million for our client whose car was struck by a commercial vehicle while stranded on the side of the road with a flat tire. The force of impact catapulted the client’s vehicle across the highway causing the client’s face to hit the steering wheel and suffer multiple lacerations and fractures, as well as damage to eyesight. He underwent four surgeries over the course of a year to address these injuries. Though the defense vigorously denied liability, Rutter Mills personal injury attorneys Adam H. Lotkin and Georgina D. Montgomery fought hard and won. The entire Rutter Mills team is proud to have helped this client get the justice he deserved and grateful that he continues to recover!

Jury Awards Pregnant Client Nearly 3 Times More Than Insurance Company Offered

A Rutter Mills client was 14 weeks pregnant when a vehicle crossed multiple lanes of traffic and violently struck her car, nearly forcing her over the jersey wall of the Berkley Bridge. The client required treatment for neck and back injuries in addition to close obstetric monitoring. The insurance company insisted the client deserved a very minimal settlement. However, attorney Erik Porcaro and our Rutter Mills team took the case to trial, winning our client nearly three times the amount of money the insurance company offered as compensation. We are happy to report that our client gave birth to a healthy baby six months after her traumatic experience!
