A 20-year-old York County man was killed late Monday night, March 10, 2014, in an auto accident. According to a Virginia State Police spokeswoman Michelle Anaya, the accident occurred in the 1500 block of Wolf Trap Road at around 10p.m. State police assisted the York-Poquoson Sherriff’s Office with the crash. The man, identified as Christopher Michael Crawford, was driving a 2003 Nissan Sentra. He was heading northbound and lost control of his car. Crawford collided into a 2009 Toyota Corolla. The driver of the Toyota Corolla sustained minor injuries. The driver of the Nissan Sentra was ejected from the car and suffered life-threatening injuries. He was not wearing his seatbelt. Both drivers were transported to Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News. 20-year-old Crawford later passed away.
Police believe alcohol and speed may have been factors in the car accident. The accident is still under investigation.
