No matter what you choose to do this New Year’s Eve, make plans ahead of time to stay safe. Remember to appoint a designated driver if you plan to drink. This year, AAA of Tidewater offers a unique “Tipsy Tow” program, which provides a free way to ensure you and your vehicle make it home safely on New Year’s Eve. The service is provided in the Greater Hampton Roads area, including Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Newport News, Hampton, Poquoson, Yorktown, and Williamsburg. It is free and available to both AAA members and non-members. The service includes a one-way, one-time ride for the driver, plus free towing of the driver’s car. Last Night on the Town at Town Center of Virginia Beach

Thursday, December 31, 2015, from 2:00 PM until 12:20 PM. Located at The Town Center of Virginia Beach at 4559 Columbus Street, Virginia Beach, VA 23462

Admission: All activities and entertainment are free and open to the public, with food and adult beverages available for purchase. A separate, ticketed VIP Party hosted by the Central Business District Association will be held stage-side in a heated tent.

Highlights: The festivities kick off mid-afternoon at Pembroke Mall with family entertainment,t including a children’s countdown and balloon drop at 5:00 PM. The fun continues throughout the night at Town Center with live music on multiple stages. This year’s headline band is national recording artist Smash Mouth! A midnight countdown with a spectacular laser light show, fireworks, and Virginia Beach Ball Drop will ring in 2016.
