American Girlu2122 Halloween Party

Saturday, October 14, 2017 beginning at 10:00 AM.

Located at Williams Sonoma at 1860 Laskin Road, Suite 102, Virginia Beach, VA 23451.

Highlights: Hot dog “mummies” and cheese twist “bones,” oh, my! Learn how to make some Halloween-themed treats, both savory and sweet, so you can throw the scariest party on the block. You and your friends will have a spine-tingling good time! Suitable for ages 8-13.

Children’s Halloween Party

Sunday, October 15, 2017 beginning at 10:00 AM.

Located at Hunt Club Farm at 2388 London Bridge Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23456.

Highlights: Bring your kids for a fun filled Children’s Halloween Party! The Children’s Halloween Party is hosted at our Garden and Greenhouse area on the farm. The area will have a DJ with fun music, dancing and games for all. Several Costumed Characters and puppets will greet all families. Activity stations are included for the kids to be able to decorate a small pumpkin, cupcake and make a seasonal craft to take home! Each Party has its own Costume Contest that includes prizes for the best costume by age group.

Family Frights

Friday, October 20, 2017 and Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 6:30 PM until 9:00 PM.

Located at Jamestown Settlement at 2110 Jamestown Road, Williamsburg, VA 23185.

Highlights: “Family Frights” is a Halloween-theme museum night for elementary-school-age children and families. Smoke, lanterns and sound effects will create an eerie atmosphere in Jamestown Settlement’s living-history areas. Along with trick-or-treating at buildings in the re-created early 1600s fort, families can take in a witch trial and explore friendly and frightful haunted houses, including houses with “Harry Potter” and “Wizard of Oz” themes. Toward the 1607 ships’ pier, visitors can play games and make crafts along the riverfront and passed a bonfire and a sailor’s graveyard, and then climb aboard a haunted Susan Constant, Godspeed and Discovery, each with its own theme, for trick-or-treating. Visitors can experience ghost stories, face painting and fortunetelling along a spooky “Forest of Frights” boardwalk, where ghostly specters dot the landscape. Children can make creepy crafts and compete in games like pumpkin bowling and hula hoop and bean bag toss.

Halloween Bash at Yankee Candle

Highlights: Dress your best for a costume contest for all ages! First, second, and third place winners of each age group will receive a wax works item. Tales of “The Devill, the Witches, & the Enchanters…”: A Haunted Evening at Historic Jamestowne

Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 6:45 PM and 8:15 PM.

Located at the Historic Jamestowne Visitor Center at 1368 Colonial Parkway, Jamestown, VA 23081.

Highlights: Peer into the world of our 17th-century ancestors and learn what scared them the most. A unique opportunity to see Jamestown Island aglow with firelight, Tales of “The Devill, the Witches, & the Enchanters… “: A Haunted Evening at Historic Jamestowne. Hear actual eyewitness accounts of conjurations and witchcraft from 17th-century Virginia, brought to life through character interpretations. Each story will be introduced with historical context that will offer how the perceived “supernatural” events evolved to blur logic and create fear for those who experienced them first hand. And it is the legacy of this fear of the unknown, darkness, and the misunderstood that is still echoed every October 31st.!
