The festival features three main attractions – the Haunted Hayride, Village of the Dead and Field of Screams for this year’s scare-fest! This Festival of Fear includes Carnival Rides, Concessions & Nightly Entertainment.
Halloween Spooktacular Musical

Highlights: The Virginia Symphony Orchestra presents their annual Halloween Spooktacular Musical perfect for all members of the family! You’re going to want to bring everyone for this concert. On Saturday, October 27th, show up in full costume and listen to the spookiest tunes! This concert is said to be more treat than trick, so it’ll be loads of fun. Tickets to this concert at the Sandler Center for Performing Arts start at $18. This event begins at 2:00 PM with some pre-concert fun activities. The music begins at 3:00 PM and lasts two hours long.

Haunted Horse Rides at Hampton Carousel

Highlights: “Trick or Treating with the Headless Horseman” and free candy are part of the fun of “Haunted Horse Rides” at the historic Hampton Carousel this Halloween season. The carousel and its finely carved and painted horses will be decorated, and carousel staff will be in costume for this special treat. But beware–one of the carousel horses will be occupied by the infamous Headless Horseman!

A Haunting at Greenbrier Farms

Highlights: Join us for the haunted farm experience that everyone’s talking about! Historic Greenbrier Farms opens the annual Haunted Farm attraction in late September. The fright-night experience runs through October 31st. The guided walking haunted tour starts at the 100 year old farm house and ends about 20 minutes later, when your voice is hoarse from screaming and your nerves shattered.

Family Frights

Located at Jamestown Settlement at 2110 Jamestown Road, Williamsburg, VA 23185.
Highlights: “Family Frights” is a Halloween-theme museum night for elementary-school-age children and families. Smoke, lanterns and sound effects will create an eerie atmosphere in Jamestown Settlement’s living-history areas. Along with trick-or-treating at buildings in the re-created early 1600s fort, families can take in a witch trial and explore friendly and frightful haunted houses, including houses with “Harry Potter” and “Wizard of Oz” themes. Toward the 1607 ships’ pier, visitors can play games and make crafts along the riverfront and passed a bonfire and a sailor’s graveyard, and then climb aboard a haunted Susan Constant, Godspeed and Discovery, each with its own theme, for trick-or-treating. Visitors can experience ghost stories, face painting and fortunetelling along a spooky “Forest of Frights” boardwalk, where ghostly specters dot the landscape. Children can make creepy crafts and compete in games like pumpkin bowling and hula hoop and bean bag toss.
