Virginia Beach

There are two fireworks displays happening in Virginia Beach. Locations include the following.

Mount Trashmore Park – The celebration begins at 4p.m. with live music by local musicians and delicious foods available for purchase. Fireworks begin at 9:30p.m. For more information, click here.

Oceanfront – The “Stars and Stripes Explosion” will be held along the Virginia Beach Oceanfront at 17th, 20th, 24th, and 31st Streets. Live music and entertainment begin at 7:30 p.m. Fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m. For more information, click here.

Norfolk

“33rd Annual 4th of July Great American Picnic”

Location: Town Point Park in Downtown Norfolk

Time: Event begins at 5 p.m. Fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. If you’re hungry, everything from hot dogs to corn on the cob will be on sale while you’re enjoying the sounds of the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command Band. Parking is available in any of the metered spaces and parking garages in Downtown Norfolk. Garages located most conveniently to Town Point Park include the Waterside, Town Point, and Main Street parking garages.

Newport News

“4th of July Stars in the Sky”

Location: Victory Landing Park (located at the end of 23rd St. at the James River)

Time: Event begins at 7 p.m. Fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m.

There will be free children’s rides (giant slides, moon bounces, an obstacle course, face painting) and strolling entertainment. Food vendors will be on site selling a variety of items including funnel cakes, seafood, hot dogs, hamburgers, and frozen treats. Entertainment will be provided by the United States Air Force Heritage of America Band from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Free parking is available at the Newport News City Hall parking lot and non-restricted lots in the Downtown area.

Hampton

“4th at the Fort”

Location: Fort Monroe

Time: Event begins at 6 p.m. Fireworks begin at 9:15 p.m.

This year, Fort Monroe will present a new twist on Fourth of July fireworks! Instead of a traditional aerial fireworks show, a 12-minute close proximity show will be launched from the top of the fortress wall at 9:15 p.m. This show will highlight the unique features of the stone fort. The ideal location to view the fireworks is just north of Outlook Beach, along Fenwick Road from the East Gate to Stillwell Road. Family fun activities will begin in the Wherry Quarter at 6p.m. The US Fleet Forces Four Star Edition Ensemble performance will begin at 8 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and picnic baskets. A variety of food will be available from local vendors. Guests are encouraged to arrive early and park in designated areas only. Parking will be limited. To reach parking areas, travel down Ingalls Road to Patch Road.

Chesapeake

“Celebrate Freedom”

Note: The City of Chesapeake’s Independence Day celebration will be held on Friday, July 3.

Location: Chesapeake City Park (900 City Park Drive)

Time: The event begins at 5 p.m. Fireworks begin at approximately 9:15 p.m.

Enjoy family entertainment, live music, children’s activities, concessions, and more. Celebrate America’s birthday with the U.S. Army TRADOC Command Band providing stirring patriotic sounds. A variety of food truck concessions will be available for an evening picnic. Feel free to bring your own chairs or blankets.

Portsmouth

“Annual Independence Day Celebration”

Location: Olde Town Portsmouth at the Seawall (901 Crawford Street)

Time: Event begins at 6:30 p.m. Fireworks begin at 9:00 p.m.

A 4th of July concert with the Tidewater Concert Band will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Portside Park. Representing various military, professional, and college groups, the band is comprised of 48 talented woodwind, brass, and percussion musicians from across the Hampton Roads area. The fireworks display may be viewed from the Portsmouth Seawall or along Crawford Parkway.

Suffolk

“Stars and Stripes Spectacular”

Location: Constant’s Wharf Park & Marina (100 East Constance Road)

Time: The event begins at 5:30 p.m. Fireworks begin at 9 p.m.

Enjoy Suffolk’s Stars and Stripes Spectacular as the skies of Suffolk light up with the firework show over the Nansemond River at Constant’s Wharf Park & Marina. Entertainment, children’s activities, local merchandise vendors, and various food choices will be available.

Williamsburg

There are multiple fireworks displays happening in and around the Williamsburg area. Locations include the following.

Colonial Williamsburg: Events will take place at Market Square, Palace Green and throughout the Historic Area. Family events and entertainment will begin at 10 a.m. and will continue throughout the day. Fireworks start at 9:20 p.m. For more information, click here.

Historic Yorktown: Events will take place at Riverwalk Landing (425 Water Street) throughout the day. Fireworks begin at 9:15 p.m. For more information, click here.

Busch Gardens: Beginning July 3rd, the theme park will put on a fireworks display every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Fireworks will begin around 9:15 p.m. and can be viewed throughout the park. For more information, click here.
