A new study from the researchers at the Texas Transportation institute has determined that a driver’s reaction time is doubled when distracted by reading or sending a text message.  This study, which was conducted in an actual driving environment shows that the impairment from texting and driving may be even worse than originally believed.
As anyone who has been in an auto accident knows, every millisecond is important when trying to avoid the crash.  Having your reaction time doubled is something that drivers can ill afford.
Please drive safe on the roads, and leave your text messages until you safely arrive at your destination.
