Rutter Mills to Host Turkey Drop on November 19, 2025, Giving Away 300 Thanksgiving Dinners in Virginia Beach

GIVING BACK MATTERS

The holiday season is a time for gratitude, community, and giving back — and at Rutter Mills, we believe no family should go without a Thanksgiving meal. That’s why we’re proud to announce our 2025 Rutter Mills Turkey Drop, happening Weds, November 19, 2025, at our Virginia Beach office located at 4287 Holland Road.

We’ll be giving away 300 Thanksgiving dinners — complete with a turkey and traditional fixings — on a first come, first served basis. Each vehicle will receive one dinner per car, distributed safely and efficiently through a drive-through giveaway in our parking lot. We’ll continue until every meal has been shared with a family in need.

Supporting Our Neighbors During a Challenging Year

Across Hampton Roads, food banks and community outreach centers are reporting unprecedented demand. The rising cost of groceries, utilities, and housing has left many families struggling to put food on the table — especially as the holidays approach.

At Rutter Mills, we’ve always believed that being part of this community means standing up for one another when times get tough. The Turkey Drop is our way of easing some of that burden and spreading hope during a season that’s all about gratitude and togetherness.

“This year, more families than ever are turning to food banks and local charities for help,” said Rutter Mills Managing Partner, Brother Rutter. “We wanted to do something immediate and meaningful to help our neighbors enjoy Thanksgiving. It’s a small way of saying thank you to the community that has trusted us for over 65 years.”

A Community Effort with the U.S. Marines

This year’s Turkey Drop is extra special thanks to the Marines from ESG2 out of Little Creek, who will be joining us to help pack and distribute the meals.

Together with the Rutter Mills team, the Marines will be loading bags with stuffing, vegetables, and all the traditional sides that make Thanksgiving complete. Their teamwork and service embody the very spirit of the holiday — unity, generosity, and compassion.

“We’re honored to have the Marines with us this year,” said Marketing Director Meredith Lettiere. “Their energy and dedication surrounding this event is inspiring. It’s an honor to work alongside them to serve our community through acts of kindness like this.”

Why the Turkey Drop Matters

The Rutter Mills Turkey Drop is more than just a giveaway — it’s a reflection of our firm’s ongoing mission to serve people when they need help most.

For decades, Rutter Mills has stood beside individuals and families across Virginia and North Carolina during some of their hardest times, fighting for justice and fair compensation after serious injuries. This event extends that same spirit of care beyond the courtroom, meeting a basic human need: a meal to share with loved ones.

Gratitude in Action

Every day, our team at Rutter Mills sees how life can change in an instant — and how important it is to have someone in your corner. The Turkey Drop is our way of being there for the community outside the courtroom. We know that Thanksgiving isn’t just about the food — it’s about connection, gratitude, and community. When families sit down together for a warm meal, it restores hope. It reminds us all that we’re not alone.

That’s what we’re celebrating with this event: the power of compassion and the strength of community. We’re proud to call Hampton Roads home, and we’re honored to share this season of giving with our neighbors.

From all of us at Rutter Mills:
Happy Thanksgiving, and thank you for allowing us to be part of this incredible community.
