Rutter Mills & “Write Stuff” Project Help Hampton Roads Students Succeed

Firm News

This year, Rutter Mills co-sponsored The Write Stuff project, an annual campaign led by WVEC Channel 13 and The Salvation Army to provide school supplies for students who might otherwise go without. For 20 years, The Write Stuff project has been helping students start their school year off with the resources necessary to succeed. We had a great time being part of the project this year. Rutter Mills donated backpacks and helped distribute them to students, along with other supplies, at an event on Thursday, August 26, at Norfolk’s Salvation Army Kroc Center Hampton Roads. Sarah Gray, a Rutter Mills paralegal, explains our staff’s experience well: “Donating backpacks was only the first step. Distributing them with the team and seeing these kids take pride in choosing their own backpack was amazing. It’s good to know they will start the year off with the tools they need to succeed.” With the teamwork of all sponsors involved in this year’s project, “The Write Stuff” has helped thousands of families get their kids prepared for school . It was a privilege to help out, and we are proud of the work everyone accomplished to help students in need. Please check out pictures and video of our participation in this project below.
