Virginia Beach
July 4th Celebration at Mount Trashmore
Date: Thursday July 4th, 2019 – 4pm to 10pm
Location: Mount Trashmore Park
310 Edwin Drive Virginia Beach, VA
Celebrate America’s independence with live music by local musicians, delicious foods, and of course, booming fireworks! Fireworks begin at 9:30 pm. Admission is free and open to the public; limited on-site parking is $10. When parking lots at Mount Trashmore Park are full, Edwin Drive between Independence Boulevard and South Boulevard may close.
Stars and Stripes Explosion
Date: Thursday July 4th, 2019
Location: On the beach at 24th Street, Dairy Queen Grill & Chill 17th Street Park, 31st Street Park
Multiple live performances on oceanfront stages will attract thousands of visitors and residents of Virginia Beach to a “star-spangled” salute to this great country of ours at Stars & Stripes Explosion on July 4! Scheduled live entertainment offers something for everyone: patriotic and classical to tribute bands, and naturally, fireworks! All concerts and the fireworks show are free and open to the public.
Norfolk
37th Annual 4th of July Great American Picnic and Fireworks
Date: Thursday July 4th, 2019 – 5pm to 10pm
Location: Town Point Park, Downtown Norfolk Waterfront
Leave the grilling to us on the 4th of July and bring your family and friends down to Town Point Park. Guests can buy traditional all-American fare, including hot dogs, hamburgers, barbecue, seafood, buttered corn on the cob, juicy watermelon, lemonade… with all the fixin’s and much more available for purchase! Relax on the lawn and enjoy the live entertainment, then watch as the sky lights up with the fireworks display at 9:30 pm!
Chesapeake
Celebrate Freedom – Concert & Fireworks
Date: July 3rd, 2019 – 5pm to 10pm
Location: 900 City Park Drive Chesapeake, VA
Honor our nation’s birthday with a concert from the U. S. Fleet Forces Band and a fireworks finale! Parks, Recreation and Tourism also brings you the best in children’s activities and family entertainment: face painting, a 3-years-and-under play area, giant lawn games, inflatables and more. FREE admission. ($5 fee for on-site parking will help us continue this great family event!) Bring lawn chairs and/or blanket (no pop-up tents permitted). Food vendors will be on site.
4th of July Celebration at Lakeside Park
Date: July 4th, 2019 – 10am to 4pm
Location: 1441 Bainbridge Blvd, Chesapeake VA
Enjoy a 4th of July tradition in Chesapeake! The event features a parade, entertainment, food, games, paddleboat rides, children’s crafts and family fun! Event is FREE to the public. Presented by South Norfolk Civic League and Chesapeake Parks, Recreation and Tourism.

Stars & Stripes Concert

Featuring the Tidewater Concert Band playing a set of patriotic music that’s sure to make you stand up and clap! Fireworks start at the close of the concert at 9 p.m.
Newport News
Date: July 4th, 2019 – 7pm to 9:30pm
Location: Victory Landing Park
The City of Newport News Parks, Recreation & Tourism Department will present the “4th of July Stars in the Sky” on Thursday, July 4, 2019 at Victory Landing Park (50 25th St.). The event begins at 7:00 PM with free children’s inflatables (moon bounces, obstacle courses) and free face painting. Food vendors will be on site selling a variety of items including funnel cakes, hot dogs, hamburgers, and frozen treats. Live music by Full Spectrum from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. Free light-up give-a-way items will be given out during the event (while supplies last).
Yorktown
Independence Day Celebrations
Date: July 4th, 2019 – 8am to 10pm
Location: Water Street and Main Street
Independence Day in Yorktown is a free family-friendly celebration featuring a full lineup of events leading up to the big fireworks finale! The morning starts with a 8K Run and 5K Walk followed by a patriotic parade along Water and Main Streets. Throughout the day, you can lounge on the beach, jam to live music, visit local shops, and explore several museums. Evening activities include a bell-ringing ceremony, patriotic concert, and an amazing firework display over the York River. Bring your flags; wear red, white, and blue; and come together to celebrate America!
