Rutter Mills LLP is proud to announce the creation of two new $2,500 scholarships for rising high school seniors attending public schools in Hampton, Virginia, who are interested in pursuing a degree and future career in law.

For generations, Rutter Mills has been committed to serving individuals and families throughout Hampton Roads. This scholarship extends that commitment by investing in local students who aspire to advocate for others, strengthen their communities, and contribute to the legal profession.

Supporting the Next Generation of Legal Advocates

A career in law begins long before a student enters a courtroom or law school. It begins with curiosity, determination, academic preparation, and a desire to make a meaningful difference.

The Rutter Mills scholarship is intended to support a rising senior who has demonstrated an interest in law and plans to pursue higher education related to the legal field. The $2,500 award may help the selected students address educational expenses as they prepare for the next stage of their academic journey.

Students may be considering undergraduate paths such as pre-law, legal studies, criminal justice, political science, public policy, or another field that can help prepare them for a future legal career.

Investing in Hampton’s Students

Rutter Mills believes that talented young people should be encouraged to pursue ambitious educational and professional goals. Financial assistance can help students focus on their studies, explore career opportunities, and take important steps toward earning a college degree.

“We believe education creates opportunities and that’s what we want to deliver for Hampton students,” said Carter Rutter of Rutter Mills LLP.

By establishing these scholarships, the firm hopes to recognize promising Hampton students while encouraging more young people to consider careers within the legal profession.
